First meeting in uk for Kyle Legault

THE Pirtek Tigers slipped to a 15-point defeat in their first meeting of the season on a freezing night at Shielfield Park, but that final margin represented a recovery from a disastrous opening. Berwick started the Premier Trophy clash in inspired form and reeled off four consecutive 5-1s in the opening four heats to take a 20-4 lead before skipper Sean Wilson got the Tigers on the board with a win in Heat 5. New Bandits signing Joachim Kugelmann won his first three races before coming to grief in Heat 8 and being hit by Kyle Legault, the German withdrawing from his remaining rides with muscular damage. A 4-2 in the re-run of Heat 8, followed by a tactical ride win from Andre Compton, saw Tigers reduce the deficit to seven points, but Berwick re-established control with a 5-1 in the following race. Paul Cooper impressively defeated the Bandits' top scorer Chris Schramm in Heat 12, and Legault also made an encouraging debut especially bearing in mind his lack of pre-season practice. BERWICK 55: Chris Schramm 14+2, Michal Makovsky 13+2, Joachim Kugelmann 9, Adrian Rymel 8+1, Piotr Dym 6+1, Simon Cartwright 5+2, r/r for Adam Pietraszko. SHEFFIELD 40: Andre Compton 11, Sean Wilson 10, Paul Cooper 6+2, Ricky Ashworth 6, Ben Wilson 3, Kyle Legault 3, Richard Hall 1+1.
Next meeting is at Hull on Wednesday. check here for more details soon.
