Star studded field for Sean Wilsons' cracker.
FORMER World Champion Jason Crump was victorious in the Sean Cracker at Owlerton on - Sunday, March 19, 2006, winning a Final which would have graced the last race of a Grand Prix. A bumper crowd enjoyed a well-organised and fully competitive meeting which was packed full of quality, safe racing. Crump headed the qualifying scores on Sean Wilson's big day to book an automatic Final place and duly converted that into overall victory ahead of a furious scrap for second place eventually settled in the favour of Nicki Pedersen, who overcame Scott Nicholls on the run-in to the line. Leigh Adams took fourth place overall after ending the chances of former Tigers star Simon Stead by overtaking him late in the semi-final - that race also seeing the end of current Sheffield captain Andre Compton's chances. Fredrik Lindgren and Ryan Sullivan were the next closest riders to making the top six and a shot at the major prizes, but both paid the penalty for running last places. Wilson himself scored six points, losing a race win in Heat 5 due to a last-bend engine failure which always left him just off the qualifying mark - but the day still belonged to the hugely popular former Tigers skipper.
