Kyle Legault at Hull today 2 30 est.

Yorkshire Cup
The tapes go up on the 2005 season for the Hull 'CPD' Vikings tonight and one man who can't wait is Joel Parsons.Local rivals Sheffield Tigers are the visitors to Craven Park for the first leg of the Yorkshire Cup and Parsons is looking forward to sampling that special derby atmosphere. "I've heard a lot about the Yorkshire Cup but have never been involved with it before now!" he said."We've got to go into both meetings in a positive frame of mind."The atmosphere when we rode against Sheffield last season was great and as riders we can hear and appreciate it."The meeting at their place when we won the bonus point was something special and that kind of atmosphere really does make you want to go out there and perform."As regards the 2005 season in general, Parsons is looking forward to building on the progress he made last year. The young Australian was a key member of the Vikings' treble-winning side and is keen to help them defend all three trophies."I'm looking forward to it," he added. "I was doing a lot of work at the mines when I went home and have managed to get some new equipment together."To be honest, I was ready to come back and do another year as soon as last season finished."We'll be trying to defend what we've won and I've just got to go out there and do the business."* Hull CPD Vikings v Sheffield Pirtek Tigers, Wednesday March 9, Craven Park 7:30pm Hull: Paul Thorp, Emiliano Sanchzez, Lee Dicken, Emil Kramer, Garry Stead, Joel Parsons, Craig Branney.
