Opening night at Batavia. Friday 19th May

Batavia ran last night even with the shaky weather conditions. It was freezing cold with lots of clouds in the sky but fortunately it didn't rain till the end of the program. There was a very low spectator turnout and it was a bit thin on speedway bikes but still there was exactly 50 entries(carts, flat track, 50/80's etc). The track was very good though. Next race is June 2nd and a very good speedway program is expected with the Hesmers and several riders from Canada expected along with Tuff McBride, Russ Cornell, Pat Cliff, Ryan Kaza, Dave Oakden, Casey Donholt, Corey Brookes, Greg Didas and others making their debuts. Many thanks to Adam Mittl, Merle Craven, Katalin Davis, Andy Crawford, Mikey Buman and Ed Reilly for all making the long trip up from the Binghamton area to support us last night with the uncertainty of the weather.
