Sheffield Tigers dominate the Fen Tigers(76-104 agg)

FORM man Andre Compton made it 20 race wins on the trot as Sheffield wrapped up their pre-season campaign with a thumping win over Mildenhall at Owlerton Thursday night.
Compton roared to another 15 point maximum as Sheffield notched a comfortable 59-31 over the Fen men. He led by example as Tigers made heavy weather of the first clutch of
races, before flexing their muscles in the second half of the meeting with four 5-1s in the last six heats. Heat leaders Ricky Ashworth and Ben Wilson also hit double figures, but boss Neil Machin will have been most pleased by the performance of his undercard riders. Joel Parsons was paid for three wins, while James Cockle was worth more than his two points. Reserves James Birkinshaw and Paul Cooper bagged paid 16 between them as Mildenhall were put to the sword in the later stages. But Sheffield didn't have it all their own way in the first half. The visitors had kept the score tight at 16-14 after five races. Then, Sheffield picked up the pace with two successive 5-1's. Former Tiger Kyle Legault made a miserable return to Owlerton, scoring just four. TIGERS: A. Compton 15, R. Ashworth 10, B. Wilson 10, P. Cooper 8+1, J. Parsons 7+2, J. Birkinshaw 7, J. Cockle 2. MILDENHALL: S. Tacey 7, J. King 6, M. Jirout 5+1, M. Thompson 5, K. Legault 4, T. Madsen 2+1, J. Smith 2.
