A sad loss.

2008-01-04 - Mrs. Evelyn June Walker nee: Paul, of St. Thomas
Walker - Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Mrs. Evelyn June (Paul) Walker of St. Thomas, passed away at LHSC, Victoria Hospital on Friday, January 4, 2008, in her 82nd year. She leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Charles W. "Chuck" Walker. Loving mother of Susan Van Berkel and her husband Hans of Kerwood. Adored grandmother of Greg Van Berkel and his wife Kristin, Geoff Van Berkel and his wife Judy, Johanna Bos and her husband Darryl, and Mark Van Berkel and his wife Tracy. Cherished great grandmother of Emily, Noah, Samuel, Megan, Joshua, Isaiah, Raina, Jeremiah, Ayva and Alexander. She is also survived by her brother Bill Paul and his wife Sally, and her sister Mary Hodges. She will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, including those who shared her passion for motorcycles. Predeceased by a brother-in-law, Wes Hodges. Born in St. Thomas, June 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Clifford and Lottie (Smith) Paul. Evelyn was a member of the Elgin County Trials Rider Club and the Canadian Speedway Motorcycle Club, an honourary member of the Welland County Motorcycle Club and a former member of the Flower City Riders Club. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Ave. Memorial donations to the charity of one's choice gratefully acknowledged. Special thanks to the caring doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital and on C6 at LHSC, Victoria Hospital.
