Legault returns for Mildehall!!!

Mildenhall gave giants King's Lynn a major fright as they pushed them into a last-heat decider before losing by just three points at the Norfolk Arena(Kings Lynn) last night.
The Stars, reigning treble champions, stormed into a 12-point lead at the half-way mark, after it took an hour to complete the first two races due to a heavy downpour making track conditions slimy and awkward in the early stages.
But a tactical ride success in heat nine, with Paul Fry securing a 3-6,(Double points for a nominated rider) was the trigger for Mildenhall's storming comeback that clearly shocked the usually dominant home side.
Canadian star Kyle Legault lowered the colours of Czech maestro Tomas Topinka in the next, and the Tigers' own Czech wizard, Tomas Suchanek, then bagged back-to-back wins in heats 11 and 12, and, with Shaun Tacey and Legault securing thirds, the margin was cut to just five points.
Fry could only split the Lynn pairing in heat 13 and then a cracking penultimate race summed up this local derby thriller.
With Suchanek out in front, team-mate Jason King was close behind for three laps before Trevor Harding edged his way past, but King never gave up and snatched second place back dramatically on the line. A final shared heat is enough to keep the bonus point within grasp in the West Row return on July 7, and the Tigers will take a major confidence boost from knowing this was the closest King's Lynn have been tested at home this season.
It could have been even better but for two controversial refereeing decisions in heats two and five, and had star man Tom P Madsen not withdrawn after damaging an ankle in an innocuous second race fall.
King's Lynn - Topinka 14 (5 rides), Lee 9 (5), Brundle 8+1 (5), Nermark 7+1 (4), Harding 5+1 (4), Mills 4+1 (4), Lambert 1 (3).
Mildenhall - Suchanek 14+1 (7 rides), Fry 13+1 (5), Legault 9 (5), King 5+2 (4), Tacey 4 (4), Thompson 0 (3), Madsen 0 (2).

Kyle Legault goes through!!

FORMER Grand Prix man Niels-Kristian Iversen proved to be the class of the field in Saturday's G.P. qualifying quarter-final at Terenzano, Italy. The Danish star powered to five straight wins for a 15-point maximum, winning the meeting with a full three points to spare over his nearest rivals. The battle for the other rostrum places went to a run-off, with Jurica Pavlic and Rafal Dobrucki both making a strong finish to the meeting with three wins on the trot after scoring three points from their first two rides. They were joined on 12 by surprise package Richard Hall, the British rider always looking a likely qualifier as he found the Italian circuit to his liking. Pavlic won the run-off for second place ahead of Dobrucki with Hall falling, but the three riders' places in the semis were already guaranteed. Also going through with double-figure scores were Kyle Legault (11), Niklas Klingberg (10) and Steve Johnston (10). There was a run-off for the reserve position with British GP Wild Card David Howe taking that spot after both he and Henrik Moller had tied on eight points - but ex-GP man Matej Ferjan missed out with five.

Paris-Welland results. 22/23 June

....................Joe Heye leads Jeff orosz at Paris....................

With another low rider turnout, the GT Tuning Time Trial event was quickly orchestrated by Duncan Luke and Carol Havill, to be a complete night of good racing!
The individual events that regularly occur, were replaced with team racing of mixed Division 1 and Division 2 riders. 2 riders from each division were paired together and the fun began.
The heats became two races, with the D1 riders having their own battles and the D2 having theirs' too! It was great for the crowd, as the event was action packed. With each heat being timed, the evening progressed with some close racing and good track times. Aaron Hesmer took the early lead in the times and Joe Heye followed close behind for the D1 riders. D2 saw Terry Rideout and Tim Murray have some strong times in their own heats.
With the heats over, the decision was made to have a first at Paris - Single time trials. Each rider had a 2-lap run, the first a gated start lap, allowed for the warm-up and the second was timed from start to finish upon a flying start. This was also based upon the riders points scores for the night and the crowd really got into it. The times were very close for each rider and the final D2 rider to win the night was Terry Rideout. He looked very composed and showed why he is a definite threat to all the other D2 riders this season!
Division 1 riders Aaron Hesmer and Joe Heye again battled the time out, surprisingly Jeff Orosz hooked up on his warm-up lap and lost ground and Gary Hesmer pushed too hard on his final corner and wiped out!
Aaron took to the track and flew to gain the best time of the night, but was beaten by just .04 seconds by Joe Heye!!!
The Welland event on Saturday night produced a great night of racing. With 8 Division 1 riders and 4 Division 2 riders, the program was set for a great spectacular event.
John Bennett took a commanding lead in the first D2 heat but was hunted down and passed on the front straight of lap 3, by the ever-improving Terry Rideout, to take a good win.
The D1 first heat caused quite a stir, when Rob Dixon looped at the start. Recovering quickly, he re-started from the 15 yard line, but was unable to catch the pack of John Kehoe, Jeff Orosz and Aaron Hesmer. Jeff doing a strong job to keep these guys back!
The second D1 heat was also full of surprises, Gary Hesmer got a great start but lost grip on his back wheel on bend one and spun around, leaving him well behind! Chris Hesmer suffered mechanical failure while challenging Joe Heye who was pushing hard to catch a flying Marc Gauthier. Marc took a good win!
The second round of heats drew more fun as the D2 guys went at it, with Tim Murray coming hard out of the gate to take a good lead with John Bennett and Terry Rideout fighting for places, John was firmly in 2nd place when Terry challenged hard and they both wobbled and John went down. He regained composure and finished behind Allan Chisholm.
Marc Gauthier went really hard in the next heat after leaving Aaron Hesmer behind him to battle it out with John Kehoe, Chris Hesmer once again suffered from a mechanical gremlin as he was forced to cruised around.
The final D1 heat was all Jeff Orosz, he went hard and led the pack to win well.
The D2 final was an amazing race by Tim Murray, he rode out of his skin to take a beautiful win! This was not easy though, John Bennett chased him hard with the crazy man Terry Rideout pulling off some rider splitting moves and hard in and outs, This race was fantastic and John and Terry gave all the guests their monies worth - Congratulations to Tim Murray for an outstanding ride!
The D1 B-Main was also a real eye-opener for all. The race was very close with Chris hesmer taking a good lead from Gary Hesmer and Rob Dixon, but Chris seemed to suffer more gremlins and Gary passed on lap 2, then as Chris was coming out of turn 4 on lap 3, his engine seized solid and he somehow saved a disaster with the bike buckling awkwardly under him, he came to an upright stop on the start line and the bike wouldn't move!!! With great sportsman-like thoughts he threw the bike down and dragged the bike off the track allowing Gary Hesmer to take his win! - Good job Chris!
The Main D1 final was all Jeff Orosz, having been forced to change his bike and use his back-up due to some mechanical problems, he sped away from the rest of the riders and took a commanding lead to win well!
Congratulations to GT Tuning's boys for their wins and we look forward to another great night of racing next week!

Aaron Hesmer wins Paris and Welland!!

Friday night at the CKPC Paris Speedway event, was met with a beautiful night of sunshine. The large crowd was entertained all night with some great close racing, that had everyone on the edge of their seats!
With the added attraction of the Vintage Bikes located in the fairgrounds, the crowd was larger than expected.
Katalin Davis made the trip up from the USA to take on Corinne Franic. Katalin got a run for her money in Corinne's partner - Terry Rideout. Terry had some great races with Katalin and came out the winner of the final D2 event!
The Division 1 heats were all action and there were a few scary moments as the track took a while to settle down. Jeff Orosz went down while chasing Aaron Hesmer after missing his grip on the handlebars, he was quickly up to catch a struggling Gary Hesmer. Gary was having a tough time in his first 2 rides, with his bike not doing what he wanted. After a few changes though, he took off and had some good tussles and even beat his cousin Aaron Hesmer!
Aaron Hesmer was chasing Gary hard and bounced hard into the boards coming out of turn 2, but held on well to avoid any disaster. Chris, Aaron's Brother, also went down hard on turn 3 and withdrew from the night's event.
The final was a close 2 lap affair until Joe Heye locked up on turn 4 and Jeff Orosz went under him to get second place behind a flying #12 Aaron Hesmer! Fred Legault came in to round up the final field and top off a great night of racing in Paris!

The Main A Final, at Welland, was set to be a good one - Aaron Hesmer, Joe Heye, Jeff Orosz, John Kehoe and Rob Dixon all took their assigned places on the starting gate. From the gate, Aaron Hesmer took a good firm lead and held it too the end, but the best pass was John Kehoe on Joe heye, Joe thinking that John was outside him moved over to take the line and John zoomed inside to safely get his spot.

Fred Legault and Gary Hesmer both failed to make the D1 final. John Bennett, Tim Murray, Terry Rideout and Al chisholm completed the field, all riding in D2. More pics in "racing pics"
